CONCEPT

Who creates the image – the human or the machine? And does it even make a difference anymore?

CONCEPT approaches these questions where they are being asked the loudest… in fashion photography. A discipline that has always balanced between art and commerce, between staging and authenticity, and which is currently being renegotiated under the pressure of generative AI systems.

The magazine gathers voices from the field: photographers, models, AI artists, image editors, and creative directors. People who do not merely observe the change from a distance, but who are right in the middle of it, actively shaping it.

The interviews paint a nuanced picture: photographers are becoming curatorial directors, models are confronted with digital twins, and synthetically generated images are competing with a practice of physical photography that has evolved over more than a century.

CONCEPT comes to the conclusion that AI will not eliminate fashion photography, but will instead transform it into a hybrid form, and that transparency and human intentionality will become the crucial distinguishing factors in the process.

What will count is not what is technically and artificially feasible, but rather the conscious human decision behind it: Why should this image exist?
